Nestled in the picturesque landscapes of Greenfield, California, Mesa del Sol Winery served as the enchanting backdrop for a wedding that was not just a celebration of love but an epic adventure for their two daughters, their friends, and the family who joined them. This intimate affair, unfolded into a two-week-long journey, creating memories that would last a lifetime for Brittney & Jared.
Mesa del Sol Winery
The Mesa del Sol Winery in Greenfield, California, provided the perfect canvas for a celebration that was as unique as the couple it hosted. Surrounded by rolling hills and vineyards, the winery offered a romantic setting for an intimate family and close friends-only ceremony. The couple, who had traveled cross-country with their two beloved dogs, exchanged vows under the golden glow of the setting sun.
As the bride and groom stood with their two daughters and two German Shepherds in front of the winery’s giant tree, the atmosphere was filled with love and joy. What made this moment even more special, is that —the officiant was my husband, Jared. We became such close friends with Brittney and Jared (after discovering that we had so many similarities and couldn’t figure out why we hadn’t done this all sooner), that they chose him to do the job. And it was perfect! He wrote such a personal ceremony for them.
They also had the most incredible catered tacos, and Brittney really wanted Taco Bell- so they got that too!
But, wait – there was more! Brittney fell in love with another dress, and that had to become the late-night surprise! Dress change!
Day 1 of Being Married; Photoshoot Adventure: Pfieffer State Park and Big Sur’s Golden Hour
The celebration didn’t end there. The following day, the couple embarked on a breathtaking adventure—a hike through Pfieffer State Park. Dressed in a different gown, Brittney, Jared, myself, and our “other Jared” (my Husband, haha!), trekked through nature’s wonder, surrounded by towering redwoods and scenic trails. It was incredible. We couldn’t stop saying “Oh my god it’s so beautiful, I can’t believe we’re doing this!”
It was such a dream.
The end of the hike unfolded at Big Sur, where the rugged coastline meets the Pacific Ocean. Timed perfectly for the Golden Hour, Jared and Brittney hiked across and up the large rocky shore to make it to some breathtaking views, all while basking in the warm hues of the setting sun.
The beauty of the moment was not just in the stunning landscapes but in the love shared between the newlyweds and the bonds of family and friendship that surrounded them.
YES! You too, can have an adventure like this!
What made this wedding truly exceptional was its transformation into a two-week-long wedding and honeymoon adventure. The couple, accompanied by their furry kids, embraced the spirit of exploration and love. Their journey took them from their home state of Michigan, on a cross-country drive to the vineyards of Mesa del Sol Winery to the majestic trails of Pfieffer State Park, and finally, to the captivating shores of Big Sur.
Brittney and Jared’s decision to turn their wedding into an extended celebration reflected their free-spirited approach to life and love.
This California dream of a wedding became not just a ceremony but a testament to the extraordinary adventures that love can inspire. And how magnificent it can be when you bring your friends along for the ride. And so, amidst the beauty of nature and the warmth of friendship, this couple began their journey into a lifetime of shared adventures and so much love.
