Yesterday I got to meet up with my wedding clients for August 2020 for their Downtown Detroit Engagement Session. Stephanie and Matt are having their big day at The Sweetest Heart of Mary in Detroit, and Andiamo’s in Warren for their reception!

We picked February 8th, and the weather was perfect! Overcast, not too cold, and the locations were stunning. And as always Detroit is a breeding ground for creativity.


They knew just where they wanted to do their photos, and I couldn’t wait to meet up with them to get their Downtown Detroit engagement session done! We started out where Wright & Co. graciously allowed us to use their stunning restaurant with the incredible Downtown Detroit, backdrop.

AND, we did some quick photos inside Wright and Co. as well! It was super cool to go back, and relive a little bit of what we had happened just a few months prior!

Cocktails and Love

With a few cocktails, we got to work! The lighting was fantastic, and these two were just the most in love. Honestly, I don’t think it’s possible to take a bad photo of them either.

They’re adorable and totally comfortable with being silly and a lil’ bit of PDA. 😉 Afterall, this is what these sessions are all about! They were totally THEM, the whole time. And it shows!

And after wrapping up at Detroit’s’ Wright and Co., they did a quick outfit change… We took a few more photos and headed out to Parker’s Alley! Now in the #1 spot for my favorite places to shoot. (I got engaged in that same spot just a little over a month ago!)

Of COURSE, I had to pull out the “pretend you’re in a three-legged race”… I always tell my couples this is the hardest thing I’ll have you do the whole shoot, let’s see how well you two work together. These Downtown Detroit engagement photo results are priceless. Here’s a good spot to see more of my engagement sessions around Michigan, and even Colorado!

And their problem-solving skills are on point would you just look at that knee connection! Haha!! Way to go Stepanie and Matt on that one! 😉

Annnnnd… their entire session had me squealing!! I could NOT wait to get these images on my computer. I knew this session was fire, and damn.. Detroit, Matt and Stephanie… all I can say is “YASSSS!”

Then the last shot we got was one of my favorites. The hair blowing, in the city breeze on the iconic street in Downtown Detroit on, Woodward Ave. Plus while kissing your fiance?!

Truly, what better moment where your new beginnings are documented for their Downtown Detroit engagement session. What better time, for the feeling that brings. Needless to say, I am so incredibly excited for Matt and Stephanies’ big day!!
